Dr. Mari Darakchyan - Pediatrician / Neonatologist, MD, PhD, Head of Neonatal Service at Grigor Narekatsi Medical Center.

Education and training

Dr. Mari Darakchyan graduated from the Department of General Medicine of the Yerevan State Medical University after Mkhitar Heratsi (YSMU) in 2004, and the Residency (in Pediatrics) of the same university, in 2007. Later, in 2008, Dr. Darakchyan successfully accomplished her second Residency in Neonatology, in the National Institute of Health Named After Academician S. AVDALBEKYAN (NIH).

Dr. Mari Darakchyan started her medical practice in 2004, being in the Residency of the YSMU, on Pediatrics. She also worked in pharmaceutical sector from 2007 to 2016 - Product Manager at KRKA pharmaceutical company, 2007-2011; Medical representative at SERVIER pharmaceutical company, 2011-2013; KAM manager at NOVARTIS pharmaceutical company, 2015-2016. In parallel, Dr. Mari Darakchyan worked as a lecturer in the Yerevan State Medical University after Mkhitar Heratsi, from 2013 to 2014. From 2014 to 2017, Dr. Darakchyan worked in the ASTGHIK MEDICAL CENTER, as a neonatologist. Currently Dr. Mari Darakchyan is the Head of Neonatal Service of GRIGOR NAREKATSI MEDICAL CENTER.      

Scientific activities

During the years of 2012-2016 Dr. Mari Darakchyan was a post-graduate student (PhD researcher) at Neonatology Department of the YSMU, and later respectively defended her PhD thesis in Pediatrics, in 2017.

Dr. Ashot Marat Hakobyan – General Surgeon, MD, PhD, Head of the Department of Surgery at ASHTARAK Medical Center, Armenia; awarded top prestigious medals from: the All-Union Exhibition of Economic Achievements (in Medicine, 1990); and the Yerevan State Medical University after Mkhitar Heratsi (YSMU), in 2006.

Education and scientific activities

Dr. Ashot Marat Hakobyan graduated from the Department of General Medicine of the Yerevan State Medical University after Mkhitar Heratsi, in 1982. From 1987 to 1990 he was a postgraduate student at All-Union Scientific Center of Surgery, Moscow, USSR. Dr. Ashot Hakobyan defended his PhD thesis in 1990. He is author 12 scientific publications and 4 know-how works in medicine.

Medical practice and relevant professional experience

Dr. Ashot Hakobyan started his medical practice in the Yerevan State N1 Emergency Surgery Hospital, as an intern, from 1982 to 1983. He continued medical practice, as a surgeon and emergency doctor, in the ASHTARAK Regional Central Hospital from 1983 to 1987. During the years of 1991-2008 Dr. Hakobyan worked as an Assistant Lecturer, till 1997, and later -Associate Professor, in the Department of Operative Surgery and Topographic Anatomy of the YSMU. From 1997 to 2010 he worked in NAIRI Medical Center, as a surgeon. Since 2010, Dr. Ashot Hakobyan is the Head of the Department of Surgery at ASHTARAK Medical Center.

Dr. Ashot Lyudvigovich Mikayelyan – MD, Plastic Surgeon, Head of the Department of Plastic Surgery of RHINO Aesthetic and Plastic Surgery Center, Yerevan, Armenia.  

Medical practice and relevant professional experience

As a plastic surgeon, Dr. Ashot Lyudvigovich Mikayelyan started his medical practice in the National Institute of Health Named After Academician S. AVDALBEKYAN (NIH), Ministry of Healthcare of the Republic of Armenia, in 2003. Later, from 2007 to 2011, he worked as a plastic surgeon in the PLASTIC and REHABILITATION DEPARTMENT of QANAQER-ZEYTUN Medical Center. As a medical doctor and Army Lieutenant, he served in the Medical Service of Police Troops of Armenia during the years of 2007-2009. He also worked in the MEDESTET Aesthetic Medical Center, Moscow, Russia, 2012-2015. Dr. Ashot Lyudvigovich Mikayelyan became the Head of the Department of Plastic Surgery of the RHINO Aesthetic and Plastic Surgery Center, since 2011.   

Education and training

Dr. Ashot Lyudvigovich Mikayelyan graduated from the Department of Pediatrics of the Yerevan State Medical University after Mkhitar Heratsi, with a diploma of distinction, in 2003. Being an exclusive student, he was awarded a nominee scholarship from the university. Dr. Ashot Lyudvigovich Mikayelyan continued his education in the Residency of Plastic Surgery of the National Institute of Health Named After Academician S. AVDALBEKYAN (NIH), Ministry of Healthcare of the Republic of Armenia. Starting from 2003, Dr. Mikayelyan began to operate independently, as a plastic surgeon, under the supervision of famous plastic surgeon Dr. Karen Danielyan. In 2012, Dr. Ashot Lyudvigovich Mikayelyan continued his educational and professional development in Moscow, in the Department of Skill Development of the Health Workers of PFUR of the Ministry of Healthcare of Russia, where he studied plastic surgery.

Dr. Hrant Zaven Kalenteryan – Neonatologist, Anaesthesiologist-reanimatologist; Head of pediatric and neonatal intensive care units in MURATSAN University Hospital of the Yerevan State Medical University after Mkhitar Heratsi (YSMU); Chief Pediatric Anesthesiologist and Reanimatologist of the Ministry of Healthcare of the Republic of Armenia; Chief Neonatologist of Yerevan city; Assistant Lecturer at N2 Pediatric and Pediatric Surgery Chairs of the YSMU; President of the Armenian Association of Neonatal Medicine.

According to the Decree of the President of Armenia (September 16, 2015), Dr. Kalenteryan was awarded MKHITAR HERATSI MEDAL - the highest medal in the healthcare sector of Armenia.

Education and training

Dr. Hrant Z. Kalenteryan graduated from the Department of Pediatrics of YSMU, in 1982. His educational and professional development continued in SPITAK MEDICAL CENTER, where we worked as a pediatrician, from 1982 to 1986. Later, Dr. Kalenteryan successfully completed his Medical Residency on Pediatric Reanimatology and Anesthesiology, in Leningrad, Russia, 1988. Residency Pediatric reanimatology and anesthesiology, Leningrad, Russia 86-88.

Later, Dr. Kalenteryan studied at Cornell medical college, New York, USA, 1995, and attended the observership in the ONASSIS CARDIAC SURGERY DEPARTMENT, in 2003. Further educational and professional development includes:

Dr. Yelena Aghajanova – Endocrinologist, M.D., PhD, Professor and Head of the Department of Endocrinology of the Yerevan State Medical University after Mkhitar Heratsi; Chief Pediatric Endocrinologist of the Ministry of Healthcare of the Republic of Armenia; Head of Endocrinology Clinic of MURATSAN University Hospital; President of the Armenian Association of Pediatric Endocrinologists; awarded a special medal of the Yerevan State Medical University after Mkhitar Heratsi.

Education, research and training

Dr. Yelena Aghajanova graduated from the Faculty of General Medicine of the Yerevan State Medical University after Mkhitar Heratsi, in 1996, and the Medical Residency (on Endocrinology) of the same university in 1999. Dr. Aghajanova defended her PhD thesis in Endocrinology and Biochemistry in 2002. She was faculty member of the Department of Internal Disease N2, Yerevan State Medical University, in 1999-2002, and an Assistant Professor of the same Department in 2002-2004. In 2004 Dr. Yelena Aghajanyan became Assistant Professor of the Department of Endocrinology, and Associate Professor of the same Department, from 2005 to 2008.
