Dr. Hovhannes Stamboltsyan graduated from the Yerevan State Medical University after Mkhitar Heratsi (YSMU) in 2004, and the Medical Residency of the National Institute of Health Named After Academician S. AVDALBEKYAN (NIH), on plastic surgery, in 2008.

Dr. Levon G. Badalyan graduated from the Department of General Medicine of the Yerevan State Medical University after Mkhitar Heratsi (YSMU) in 2005, and the Clinical Residency of the Department of Oncology of the same university in 2007. 

During the years of 2008-2012, Dr. Levon Badalyan completed a scientific research in the National Institute of Health Named After Academician S. AVDALBEKYAN (NIH), and successfully defended his PhD thesis on DEVELOPMENT OF EFFICIENCY CRITERIA IN CANCER PALLIATIVE CHEMOTHERAPY (received Certificate of PhD in 2012).

Dr. Levon G. Badalyan started his medical practice in 2007, as a medical oncologist, in the National Center of Oncology of Armenia. Dr. Badalyan is the Head of the Department of Medical Oncology at NAIRI MEDICAL CENTER, since 2012.

Dr. Margarita M. Grigoryan graduated the College after Ananya Shirakatsi in 1998, and the Department of General Medicine of the Yerevan State Medical University in 2004, with a Diploma of Honor. Dr. Ashot Vardanyan graduated from the Department of Stomatology of the Yerevan State Medical Institute (currently – the Yerevan State Medical University after Mkhitar Heratsi) in 1992, and medical internship at Dental Clinic N8, Yerevan, Armenia. Dr. Merujan Saghatelyan – Interventional cardiologist, MD, Head of the Department of Angiography and Intervention. Dr. Saghatelyan is specialized in Coronary, Peripheral Interventions and other related fields.  

Education and training

Dr. Merujan Saghatelyan graduated from the Yerevan State Medical University after Mkhitar Heratsi (YSMU) in 1997 and the Residency of Cardiology of the same university in 2002. During the years of 2006-2009 Dr. Saghatelyan successfully completed several training and educational programs, such as: the Fellowship of Invasive Cardiology at Nork Marash Medical Center (NMMC), Interventional Cardiology and Endovascular Therapeutics, the Russian Cardiology Research and Production Complex, Moscow, Russia.    

Medical practice and relevant professional activities

Dr. Merujan Saghatelyan started his medical practice at NMMC in 2003, as a Clinical Cardiologist, then Invasive Cardiologist (since 2006), and Interventional Cardiologist (since 2008). Since 2012 Dr. Saghatelyan works in the EREBOUNI Medical Center as Interventional Cardiologist and Head of the Angiography Department.

  • angiography of the arteries of the uterus
  • angiography of the arteries of the upper and lower extremities
  • Balloon dilatation and stenting of coronary arteries
  • Ablation in cardiac arrhythmias
  • Stenting of stenotic peripheral artery, including renal artery
  • Embolization of arteries feeding the tumor
  • Embolization of the uterine arteries in myoma
  • Closing of the defects in the septum of the heart and in great vessels

Most of the endovascular interventions are painless. The main approach is the transradial access - through the radial artery, which reduces the rate of local complications after interventions, it is more comfortable and recovery takes less time. 

Rehabilitation after cardiac catheterization usually takes a few hours. In case of endovascular interventions (angioplasty and stenting) the hospital stay may take 2-3 days.
